Dacoit arrested, pistol and ammunition recovered in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: A team of Sonitpur Police, acting on a tip-off from Military Intelligence, on Tuesday night arrested a dreaded dacoit near Kaliabhomora Bridge under Tezpur PS in Sonitpur district and also recovered a factory made 7.65 mm pistol and six live ammunition from his possession. The operation was led by Pranjal Saikia, TSI, Tezpur Sadar Police Station under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Mugdhajyoti Dev Mahanta. The arrested person has been identified as Anisur Jaman (25), resident of Rupshi in Nagaon district. Interrogation is on to find out links.
