BAKSA: An incident of robbery in a petrol depot in broad daylight at Tamulpur has created sensation in the district of Baksa. The incident took place on Monday at Souraguri along the Tamulpur-Nagrijuli-Udalguri road under Tamulpur Police Station in Baksa district. Dacoits looted money from a petrol pump named Upasana Kishan Sewa Kendra.

Talking to media persons, a worker of the petrol depot said that the incident occurred at about 2.38 pm on Monday. He said, "A two wheeler without number plate came to the petrol depot. They were two people on the bike. One person got down and approached the female worker who was filling fuel in a vehicle. When that vehicle left the depot, suddenly the person cut the bag which was hanging from the female's shoulder with a sharp weapon. He then swiftly got into the bike with the other person and escaped. Before the incident, a customer had come to our depot and purchased diesel worth Rs. 1.5 lakh. That money was in the bag along with some more money. Around Rs 2 lakh cash was in the bag."

The incident was recorded in the CCTV camera. An FIR has been lodged in this regard at Tamulpur Police Station. After receiving the information, a team from Tamulpur Police Station rushed to the spot and started investigation.
