Dakshin Borsojai Maidam Committee pour in donations for fight against coronavirus

MANGALDAI: In response to the call given by the State Government, Dakshin Borsojai Maidam Durga Mandir Committee in Lalmati, Guwahati has decided to donate an amount of Rs 1 lakh as humble contribution to fight against the dreaded coronavirus.

“The need of the hour is that we must get united to follow the guidelines issued by the government for the safety, security and well-being of the citizens and to extend all possible help and cooperation to our government. The Durga Mandir Committee, expressing their solidarity in this crucial hour of crisis, has finally decided to donate an amount of Rs 1 lakh to the State Government,” said president of the Durga Mandir Committee, Akhil Chandra Goswami while talking to The Sentinel.

On the other hand, former activist of Assam Movement, social activist and author Hiren Kumar Saharia of village Neogpara at Kalaigaon in Darrang district, currently a resident of Guwahati, has decided to donate an amount of Rs 20,000 to the State Government.

Another businessman of repute, Dinesh Sarma of Beltola in Guwahati has also come forward to donate Rs 10,000 to the State Government in the fight against coronavirus.
