MANGALDAI: Darrang Police, in a significant achievement, recovered a rhino horn and arrested two notorious poachers on Thursday night.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ) Pranjal Bora and Officer in-charge of Dalgaon Police Station, Inspector Mano Ranjan Gogoi accompanied by the Special Task Force conducted a raid in the house of Johor Ali (55), son of Rahatulla of village No. 1 Bacha Simolu Chitolmari under Singri Outpost of Dhekiajuli Police Station in Sonitpur district and recovered a rhino horn weighing about two kilograms from the house of the arrested poacher Johor Ali. The police also arrested another poacher, Habibur Rahman originally of Sarupothar area in Golaghat district, from his hideout in Sadiya. Both the arrested poachers were planning to sell the rhino horn to a gang of smugglers.
