DC Aditya Vikram Yadav inspects Paddy Procurement Centres in Sivasagar district

SIVASAGAR: Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav made inspection visit to a number of Paddy Procurement Centres (PPC) in the district on Sunday. The Deputy Commissioner visited Sologuri PPC under NAFED, Morabazar PPC under AFCSCL and Khanamukh PPC under FCI and interacted with the millers and officials responsible for the procurement process. He instructed them to reach out to every farmers in their respective areas, so as to create awareness among farmers to sell their produce to the government at MSP and to meet the target set for every PPC.

To assess the paddy procurement situation, the DC also held discussions with the local farmers. He stressed on the farmers of the district to take maximum advantage of the facility of selling paddy at the minimum support price offered by the government and urged all the farmers to avoid middlemen. During the inspection, the DC was accompanied by Inspectors of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Departments Ujjal Phukan and Mala Konwar respectively.
