GOLAGHAT: The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Golaghat, in association with ASDMA, has successfully conducted three days' training for School Focal Point Teachers (SFPT) Phase-II at district level w.e.f 18.02.2021 to 20.02.2021 for 50 schools at the conference hall of Golaghat Engineering College, Bogorijeng, Golaghat. The meeting was inaugurated by the District Project Officer, DDMA, Golaghat and attended by Field Officers (DM) of Revenue Circles.

The resource persons for the training were invited from DIET, Dergaon, namely Trishna Hazarika and Manjit Saikia, Lecturer, DIET as well as resource persons from Golaghat Fire & Emergency Services and SDRF team.

The participants were oriented on National School Safety Policy 2016, basic concepts of disaster management, non-structural safety measures including hazard, vulnerability, capacity and risk analysis and preparation of school disaster management plan. They were also introduced to the Right to Education Act, psychosocial issues of school children during disaster, special focus on child-friendly spaces during emergency and fire safety measures, rescue techniques ending with mock-drill and demonstration. The officials and staff of Golaghat Engineering College also participated in the last day session of fire safety measures.

The training was successfully concluded on Saturday and the closing session was held in the presence of Mayurakhi Dutta, Assistant Commissioner, Golaghat, Amlan Phukan, Assistant Commissioner, Golaghat and Suranjita Sarmah, ALRS, Circle Officer (A), Khumtai Revenue Circle.
