TINSUKIA: The death of Arnab Kishor Bordoloi who died of electrocution at Baghjan BGR5 on September 8 is shrouded in mystery as father of Arnab, Bijit Kumar Bordoloi doubting foul play and negligence on the part of Oil India Limited (OIL) has sought clarification from the OIL.

Expressing anguish for not communicating with the family members of the deceased, Bordoloi in a letter to the CMD OIL on Saturday demanded CCTV footages of the site entrance at the location of accident along with all details of the entry at Baghjan. He questioned as to why Arnab was sent to work on a dangerous condition all alone and whether OIL had any standard operating procedures (SOP) and safety guidelines that necessitated briefing to Arnab before he was sent in the frontline of the blazing site.

What intrigued the parent was over OIL's alleged claim that Arnab's cell phone was burnt and damaged even as he had submitted his phone at the entry gate which his family was aware of. Bordoloi questioned as to why the phone was not handed over to the family in first place having their rights over all his belongings. Though it was widely reported that Arnab faced the blunt of electrocution while wielding was in progress near high voltage generator set, the OIL claimed that he was found unconscious even as his autopsy report was still awaited, the parent desired to have full transparency about the whole fiasco. Aggrieved Bordoloi in his letter stated that, "Company with huge financial resources, we cannot accept and do not accept the Company to have such low standard of safety that an engineer working on a line gets electrocuted." Adding a note of warning that if their queries were not satisfactory, he said, "please be aware that we will come and fight with all might and force."
