Death of SI Junmoni Rabha: CID begins preliminary investigation

NAGAON: After taking up the case of the mysterious death of SI Junmoni Rabha in a road mishap at Jakhalabandha on Tuesday, a CID team rushed to Nagaon and also took stock of the incident. Sources said that the team went to Morikolong police outpost and thereafter went to Nagaon Sadar PS, following which the team went to the spot of the incident near Sorubhogia under Jakhalabandha PS.

The CID team subsequently went to Jakhalabandha PS where the team interacted with the officials of the PS in connection with the tragic incident, sources added. The CID team did not disclose anything to media persons regarding the incident till the time of filing this report. On the other hand, family members as well as other people suspect that SI Rabha was murdered.

While speaking to this correspondent on Wednesday afternoon here, Superintendent of Police Leena Doley said the case had been already handed over to CID and she had nothing to say about the incident.
