Debajit Gogoi as the New Executive Director of Digboi AOD

 DIGBOI: Jorhat born son of Assam Debajit Gogoi has finally taken charge of Executive Directive & Refinery Head of AOD- Digboi Refinery here formally on Saturday. The organisation had to manage the affairs of the AOD administration without a full fledged Executive Director for a year.

KK Sarmah the Chief General Manager-cum-Refinery Head was managing the affairs of the administration till his retirement last month.

Gogoi has been a mechanical engineer graduated in 1986 from Jorhat Engineering College, and had joined erstwhile Bongaigoan Refinery & Petrochemical Limited as Executive Technical trainee in 1988. He has served in various capacity in Bongaigoan Refinery & Mathura Refinery and taken charge as Executive Directive & Refinery Head, Mathura Refinery in the year 2022. The official with various achievements and contribution towards the growth of the Oil industry has finally been transferred from Mathura Refinery to AOD-Digboi Refinery in the capacity of the Executive Directive & Refinery Head, AOD-Digboi Refinery. The role and responsibilities of the new Executive Director Debajit Gogoi would be worth noting in the wake of the Capacity Expansion project worth Rs. 740.20 of the country’s oldest Refinery from 0.65MMTPA to 1.0 MMTPA slated to be commissioned by October 2025.

It is also expected that the new head of the AOD Digboi would be able to secure the much needed coordination and support from all concerned stakeholders for overall growth and prosperity of the industry, place and its people as one of the predecessors Subrato Ghosh had set during his complete tenure in the year 2010-2011.
