Debargaon Block of UPPL lodged FIR against fake Facebook account

KOKRAJHAR: The Debargaon Block of United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) on Tuesday lodged an FIR against the opening of fake Facebook account in the name of UPPL, which according to them is misleading the people of the region by circulating fake and manipulated reports.

In the FIR, Bijit Basumatary, president of Debargaon Block, UPPL said some of the BPF members linked with its IT/Media Cell have opened a fake Facebook account in the name of 14 no. Debargaon Block UPPL since June 27. He said the UPPL had not created such a Facebook account to criticize its own party as was being done in the fake account.

Basumatary said the fake account holders were BPF members or IT Cell members who have been instigated by their party leaders to circulate or display various propaganda against UPPL through the fake Facebook account and thus mislead the people, besides maligning the image of the UPPL. He urged the police administration to take needful action against the creators of fake Facebook accounts.
