Debraj Roy College, Golaghat students stage protest against CAB

GOLAGHAT: The students of Debraj Roy (DR) College of Golaghat staged protest in front of the college on Tuesday to protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.

Hundreds of students of the college raised various slogans against the Narendra Modi-led BJP government as well as Sarbananda Sonowal-led Assam Government. The protest was carried out under supervision of DR College Students’ Union. In this context, the president and secretary of the college students’ union, Lila Bora and Rhitij Thakur said that the student body of the college would never accept the decision of the BJP government for bringing CAB in Assam. The controversial CAB should be withdrawn, they said.

Further, the students burnt the draft copy of CAB and also threatened that unless the controversial Bill was scrapped, DR College Students’ Union would intensify its stir.
