Defence Research Laboratory (DRL) Tezpur, a premier lab of Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) celebrated Diamond Jubilee and Lab Raising Day

TEZPUR: Defence Research Laboratory (DRL) Tezpur, a premier lab of Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) celebrated Diamond Jubilee and Lab Raising Day on Monday. Vice Chanchellor of Cotton University, Guwahati Prof. Ramesh Ch. Deka was the chief guest of the function and Chatra Bhushan Gogoi, District and Sessions Judge Sonitpur was the guest of honour and many eminent personalites from academia, Army and CAPF also graced the occasion. Dr. Dev Vrat Kamboj, Director DRL delivered the 61st Lab Raising Day speech and Dr. Vanlalhmuaka, Scientist briefed about the 60 years journey of DRL. The moment turned more special with the presence of retired officers & staff.
A coffee table book capturing six decades of DRL's resplendent past was released and a video documentary showcasing the journey of DRL, highlighting technologies and products, was also released. To commemorate diamond jubilee, a series of events were organised throughout the year such as National Level competition for Ideas on "Life Support Technologies for Enhancing Combat Efficiency under different terrains of NE India" among school and college students, Science model competition, lectures on entrepreneurship, DRDO Kisan-Jawan-Vigyan Mela at Tawang etc. Prizes were also given by the chief guest to the students who won various competitions organised during the diamond jubilee celebration year.
