GAURISAGAR: Assam Primary TET Qualified (2019), central and Sivasagar district committees, organized a press met on Tuesday at Gaurisagar Sankardev Sishu Niketan in Sivasagar district. Rashmiranjan Dutta, chief adviser, Assam Primary TET Qualified (2019), central committee, Dhrubajyoti Nath and Paban Duarah, president and secretary respectively of Assam Primary TET Qualified, Sivasagar district committee, demanded the State Government to appoint all primary TET qualified candidates within 1-2 months.

Addressing the media persons, they said that these TET qualified candidates had requisite qualifications like D.L Ed and B.Ed. After 7 years' interval, the all Assam primary TET examination was held in 2019. Out of 3,76,00 candidates, a total of 34,210 candidates successfully qualified. But the State Education Department is yet to appoint the TET qualified candidates. The committee demanded State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to appoint all TET qualified candidates before 2021.

They said that the government was taking initiative to appoint 9,000 teachers in primary schools though advertisement in different vermicular dailies. But they alleged that the advertisement was of 2018. They also opined that the candidates who had qualified in the examination, most of them would cross the age limit mentioned within 1-2 years. So, the committee demanded the State Government to appoint TET qualified candidates against vacant posts by giving new advertisement.

They also said that due to some anomalies in the CTET advertisement in 2018, many candidates of other States had applied and some had even qualified on merit basis. They questioned why the government had given a chance to candidates of other States? They also demanded the government to appoint Hindi Probin and Ratna degree holders in upper primary schools.
