Demand to release financial package for indigenous Muslims

MORIGAON: The activists of All Assam Goria-Moria-Deshi-Jatiya Parishad, Morigaon unit on Tuesday staged a human chain programme demanding release of the Rs 100 crore package that was announced for the development of the indigenous Assamese Muslim community. The organization said that the BJP-led State Government had promised to do a distinct survey for the development of the indigenous community, but the promise had not been fulfilled. Staging the human chain programme, the organization warned the government not to include the indigenous Muslims in the list of migrated Muslims. The organization, supported by the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) and the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), demanded the government to take immediate steps to resolve these issues.
