Demow gears up for 71st Republic Day celebration

DEMOW: Under the patronage of Demow Revenue Circle Office and in association with the people of Demow, the 71st Republic Day will be celebrated in Demow Public Playground on Sunday.

As per the schedule, the programme will start with patriotic songs on Sunday morning. The national flag will be hoisted in government offices and educational institutions which will be followed by lighting the ceremonial lamp before the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. The swahid tarpan will also be offered. The tricolor will be hoisted centrally in Demow Public Playground by Manuroma Morang, Demow Circle Officer. Kushal Dowari, MLA of 107 Thowra Constituency, will be present in the programme as chief guest. A cultural programme will be organized on the occasion and a felicitation programme will also be held. Prizes will be distributed to the winner of various competitions held on the occasion. The Marwari Yuba Mancha, Demow Branch will distribute fruits among patients in Demow Model Hospital.
