Demow Health Workers put in every effort in battle against coronavirus

DEMOW: At a time of the nationwide lockdown when everybody is at home, the doctors of Demow Model Hospital, Demow Block Primary Health Centre, nurses and health workers are working hard to create awareness among the people.

The Asha workers and the gaon buras are also doing their duty sincerely. Hospital isolation of suspected patients is done in Demow Model Hospital, said an employee of the hospital. Moreover, in the isolation ward in Demow Model Hospital four beds have been kept ready.

The local organizations of Demow are distributing essential commodities among the poor during the lockdown period. A Rapid Response Team for COVID-19 of Demow Model Hospital/Demow CHC has been formed, said Dr Rupam Borkotoky, Deputy Superintendent of Demow Model Hospital. Manuranjan Dowerah, an employee of Demow Model Hospital, has provided a helping hand by donating a sum of Rs 5000 to Demow Model Hospital, Rs.5000 to Demow Police Station and Rs.5000 to Demow Revenue Circle for masks to be distributed among emergency employees working during the lockdown period.

An order came from the local administration recently where it was mentioned that in view of maintaining social distance and for compliance of other guidelines specified by the Government of Assam on coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) and in the interest of the people of Demow area during the lockdown period, it was decided to make doorstep delivery of vegetables and grocery items by the venders of Demow from 10am to 4pm.
