DEO Samprity Goswami holds meeting to discuss COVID-19 management plan in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: In connection with the COVID-19 management plan in respect of 124- Margherita LAC, a meeting was held on Saturday in the office of the District Election Officer, Margherita.

Samprity Goswami, the District Election Officer for 124-Margherita LAC, presided over the meeting. The meeting was also attended by Abhijit Gogoi, Assistant Commissioner, Margherita, Tridib Kumar Konwar, Election Officer and Ram Chandra Deori, BDO. Keeping COVID-19 protocols and SOPs in the backdrop, the meeting resolved that the polling stations in the town area and rural area concerned would be sanitized on March 26, i.e. 24 hours before the poll day by the Municipal Board and Goan Panchayats concerned respectively.

The polling stations will be facilitated with soaps, hand gloves, cotton rolls (for voters who opt for thumb impressions) and triple layer mask along with face shields and one N-95 mask will be provided to all polling personnel on the last day of their training. The media persons who will be issued the identity cards will also be given mask through the SDIPRO-Margherita and Media Cell i/c.

The Bio Medical Waste (BMW) disposal management plan will be modeled by the SDM&HO, Margherita and the proper disposal of waste will be ensured by the Sector Officer in-charge, in co-ordination with the Nodal Health Officer.
