Deplorable condition of road irks people for several years

KALAIGAON: Due to alleged apathy and negligence of the PWD (R), the Kalaigaon to Khairabari connecting road has been in a deplorable condition since several years. The people who travel through this road suffer a lot. The pathetic condition of the road has even led to many accidents.

There are various potholes on the road which connects Kalaigaon Model Hospital and educational institutions like Kalaigaon Junior College. The students and patients are the worst sufferers. The Kalaigaon unit of the All Koch Rajbangshi Students' Union (AKRSU) has demanded immediate repair of the Kalaigaon-Khairabari Road and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri. If the department concerned does not take immediate steps for repair, the organization, with the help of local people, will launch a massive protest against the government.
