TEZPUR: Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das on Saturday launched e-Nirikshan, a follow-up Action Monitoring System for Sonitpur district. It's a web-enabled application software developed by the team from National Informatics Centre (NIC), Sonitpur, led by District Informatics Officer (DIO) Anup Baruah and Additional DIO Jayanta Kumar Nath. The software will help ease the system of monitoring follow-up action by various line departments and officials concerned on the decisions taken by the district administration during meetings at various levels and will ease the process of monitoring and compliance. The ICT-based solution will be available on https://enirikshan.nic.in.

A brainchild of Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das, the software will enable real-time online monitoring and fast track the compliance of pending action-points. The follow-up action in respect of each decision will be expected to be updated by the concerned department/ agency as per timeline fixed by the district administration.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner said the software is the need of the hour and that it was his long–cherised dream of developing an application such as this, and he thanked the DIO and NIC team for putting in all sincere effort to develop the software. He also thanked Assistant Commissioner Simi Karan, who is also the nodal officer for the central monitoring cell at DC's office, for being associated with the project and giving valuable inputs. He asked all heads of departments to depute one nodal officer for monitoring within the next three days and asked the NIC team to hold an orientation programme for the nodal officers.

A short demonstration of the working of the software was also shown to the officials present by the NIC team.

The software is expected to go a long way in bringing about transparency and enhance efficiency in governance while reducing the need of written correspondence between the Deputy Commissioner's office and various departments/ agencies. It will automate the tracking of action-points starting from online submission to its final compliance report.

The system has facility of a Digital Dashboard and different user departments will be able to securely access the system through a log-in ID and password. Various other features will subsequently be incorporated into the software at a later state.
