Kokrajhar: As the pandemic coronavirus is spreading in different States of India, Kokrajhar wore a deserted look with people preferring to stay indoors for fear of the deadly disease. After nationwide Janata Curfew on Sunday, shops and business establishments remained shut on Monday too while markets were few. Since grocery shops were also closed, people were seen helpless trying to get their basic items. Goods are going to fall short in the grocery shops as people are buying essential goods and stocking up.

Meanwhile, the people of Kokrajhar are apprehensive as many local youths who were working in various cities in south and west India are now returning home by train or by bus but most of them have not been screened properly. The passenger screening camp was set up at Kokrajhar railway station but the medical team has been using detecting machine since Sunday morning.

On the other hand, the remote villages from where youths had gone to different cities seeking job, have started taking precautionary measures. Many villages have issued instructions to these youths to get tested before entering their respective villages.
