Despite COVID-19 fear, Railway workers continue doing their duty

Bongaigaon: Most people are staying at home nowadays to remain safe from the attack of COVID-19. But some are still working on the railway tracks for smooth and effortless supply of food materials and other essential commodities. Yes, they are the gangmen and trackmen of the Railways due to whose relentless efforts we are getting food and other essential materials. Movement of passenger, mail and express trains have been since lockdown. Most of the sectors, other than essential services, are closed. But along with other essential sectors like health and security forces, Railway is also working restlessly for supply of food materials. Through New Bongaigaon junction of North East Frontier Railway, regularly 30 to 40 goods trains pass upward and downward. All category staff related to train movement like station master, signal and telecommunication, electrical, trackmen, gateman and gangmen are performing their duties regularly without caring about their personnel safety.
