Determined to develop Goalpara: Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog

GOALPARA: State Finance Minister as well as the district Guardian Minister, Ajanta Neog on Monday visited Goalpara district.

During her first visit to the district in the new responsibility, she held a meeting with the department officers regarding the implementation of the government schemes and guided them for the future progress. The meeting, held by the district administration at the DC's conference hall, was anchored by Meenakshi Das Nath, Deputy Commissioner of Goalpara district.

A symbolic programme of distribution of wheelchairs to the specially-abled persons was also undertaken post meeting. Later, while talking to the media persons, Ajanta Neog expressed her determination to develop the district. "We will have to develop the district with cooperation from all concerned," she said.

Earlier, she visited the Joytun Nesa Memorial School and New Goalpara High School where the special vaccination drive on COVID-19 began along with the rest of the State. A team of BJP leaders under the supervision of Himadry Das, president of Goalpara district BJP, accompanied the minister in her visit to different locations. The four Congress MLAs of the district also participated in the programmes by the minister.
