LAKHIMPUR: Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah and Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka on Saturday inaugurated the implementation of a slew of developmental schemes to be implemented in North Lakhimpur town in the upcoming days.

The MP and MLA inaugurated the beautification work of the Tyag Kshetra located at Ward No. 6, Nagar Pachimanchal playground at Ward No. 14, wood based cremation system at public cremation ground at Ward No. 14, rejuvenation of North Lakhimpur town water supply scheme at Ward No. 12, Marketing Society Path at Ward No 14, Jogesh Sarmah Baruah Path at Ward No. 11, Kali Mandir Path at Ward No. 10, Khageswar Sarmah Path and Khetra Mohan Borah Path at Ward No. 3, Budhin Baruah Path at Ward No. 8, rejuvenated toy train at Gandhi Park, Squash Court, and Tennis Court at Ward No. 6. They also laid the foundation stone for the construction of the SWM dumping ground at Ward No. 14 and Gopi Nagar Hari Mandir Drain-cum-Road at Ward No. 10.

MP Pradan Baruah and MLA Manab Deka told media persons that the completion of these projects would resolve long-pending problems of the town. The projects will be implemented with the fund allotted under second phase of 15th Finance Commission.
