Dhakuakhana district unit of Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad stages protest

LAKHIMPUR: The Dhakuakhana district unit of Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad (SAKP) staged protest in Dhakuakhana on Monday following the instruction issued from the central committee of the employees’ organization.

The demonstration was organized in support of 16 demands in the Dhakuakhana Karmachari Bhawan premises from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. During the demonstration, the employees from various government departments displayed placards and shouted slogans demanding for reinstallation of Old Pension Scheme, withdrawal of New Pension Schemes, upgrade of tutors to the status of teacher and fulfillment of other demands.

In connection, the organization also held a protest meeting in the same spot wherein SAKP organizing secretary Jiban Gogoi, Dhakuakhana district unit SAKP president, Atul Chutia, general secretary Sunil Kumar Dutta, High School Teachers’ Association president Lakhi Hatibarauah, vice-president Biren Hundique, Revenue Department employee Jiten Gogoi and other delivered lecture highlighting the issues of the government employees. Later, the organization submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through Dhakuakhana SDO (Civil) in support of the 16 demands. The organization has issued threat that it will initiate extensive protest programmes if the demands are not fulfilled at the earliest.
