LAKHIMPUR: Dhakuakhana police on Saturday launched an operation against a flesh trade racket which had been active for a long time at Khagarihola under Dhakuakhana police station. The operation was launched in association with the activists of the Ghilamora regional unit Anti-Corruption Youth Power, Assam (ACYPA) and Dhakuakhana regional unit All Assam Students' Union (AASU).

During the operation, police arrested two women who had been involved with the illegal trade while some youths managed to run away. ACYPA central committee assistant secretary Ashim Dutta, Ghilamora unit dignitary Homen Saikia, Dhakuakhana AASU president Swaraj Sankar Gogoi and a section of Dhakuakhana journalists were present on the spot during the operation.
