HOJAI: “Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) is ongoing in Hojai district to boost Tribal Welfare outreach,” said Bidyut Bikash Bhagwati, District Commissioner, Hojai, at Srimanta Sankardev Nagar in Hojai on Wednesday.  He said, “The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched a campaign titled Dharti Aba Abhiyan - Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camps and accordingly in Hojai district too it is ongoing from June 15 and will conclude on June 30.” He said, “The campaign aims to saturate individual entitlements at the grassroots level and raise awareness about the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan.” He also said,”Hojai District Administration has made a detailed roadmap to ensure timely and smooth delivery of services in the 130 tribal villages with an estimated tribal population of 30,000, most of whom have been already covered under different schemes.” He apprised that in 2025, so far, 10 camps have been conducted across Hojai district, to enrol the previously left out tribal people of various government schemes.

The District Commissioner said that all the concerned departments were organizing village and cluster-level awareness campaigns. He said, “Our objective is to deliver a wide range of services directly at the camp locations, including Aadhaar Card, Ration Card, Ayushman Bharat Card (PM-JAY),Caste and Domicile Certificates, Kisan Credit Card (KCC), PM-KISAN, Jan Dhan Account, Insurance Coverage (PMJJBY/PMSBY), Social Security Schemes (Old Age, Widow, and Divyang Pensions), Employment and Livelihood Schemes (MGNREGA, PM Vishwakarma, Mudra Loans), Women and Child Welfare (PMMVY, ICDS Benefits, Immunization), etc.”

“These camps witnessed significant participation from the tribal population. Many tribal attendees expressed their gratitude for this initiative by the Government of India,” the DC stated. In response to community demand, Hojai District Administration scheduled additional camps to ensure maximum coverage and benefit saturation.
