Dhekiajuli Stage Carriage Association to agitate against toll gate fees

DHEKIAJULI: The newly-formed body of Dhekiajuli Stage Carriage Association has threatened agitation against the toll gate fee charges in different parts of Assam. All the bus owners of Dhekiajuli area unanimously objected to the toll gate fee charges during this pandemic situation. They alleged that their buses were plying on the roads as per COVID-19 protocol. Most of the time their buses ply with only few passengers and as a result, they are suffering losses on daily basis. The association requested the State Government to waive off the ongoing toll gate fee till the pandemic crisis ends.

At the Changsari toll gate, each bus has to pay Rs 535 for covering only 30 km of four-lane road. The association's joint secretary Mukut Kalita said that soon they would start their agitation against the toll gate fees imposed by the State Government.
