DHUBRI: Dhubri District Museum organized an exhibition of some antique collections of weaponries along with Ahom era coins collected by Debajit Das, in collaboration with the district administration, for celebrating the 400th birth anniversary of Lachit Barphukan in a grand manner at the Prabhat Chandra Barua field wherein week-long cultural programmes held centrally, concluded on Friday.

At a simple function held at exhibition stall, Dhubri District Museum Officer, Kritee Kumar Sarma recalled the valour of Lachit Barphukan and also emphasized preserving such valuable objects which are the cultural identity of not only Dhubri but also of entire Assam.

Speaking on the occasion, Debajit Das, an eminent numismatist of Dhubri, said that the objects of the Ahom period nicely displayed speak the history and important facts.

Deputy Commissioner Dibakar Nath and other dignitaries took a note of the event and praised the collection of objects. He also gave some valuable suggestions to be taken in the near future for preserving valuable objects.
