Dhubri gears up to fulfil aspirations of farmers under PM Kisan Credit Card

DHUBRI: Dhubri district administration and all the banks joined hands in implementing the most sought after and flagship programme of the government of India to fulfil the hopes and aspirations of all farmers under PM Kisan Credit Card (KCC). The first phase of rigorous awareness campaign has been launched in the village and block level with farmers with a fervent appeal from the banks to avail the loan in a simplified manner.

Addressing media persons here at Dhubri DC Conference Hall, Deputy Commissioner, Anant Lal Gyani briefed the media persons recently on the PM KCC programme and said that Government of India had launched a drive to saturate all eligible farmers of the country under KCC.

“Apart from agriculture and farming activities, additional features under the PM KCC this time is the inclusion of livestock and fisheries. We fixed a tentative target to reach out to 1.52 lakh beneficiaries, of which 32,654 KCC beneficiaries are already there in the district who are actively operating,” Gyani informed.

Gyani said that Dhubri district topped in the state by opening highest number of Jan Dhan Accounts and the total figure of which was 12,8,804 and PM KCC sanctioned amount would be directly credited to the accounts of the beneficiaries.

Dhubri Lead Bank Manager Nabeen Kumar also addressed the media persons and informed that all the banks are extensively campaigning in the villages and block level to create awareness with an aim to reach out to all the farmers of the district with an appeal to avail the loan. Kumar also informed that there are 62 branches and loan availing facilities would be continued till February 22.
