Dhubri: World Environment Day observed in Sankardev Sishu Bidya Niketan

DHUBRI: World Environment Day was observed under the auspices of Dr. Pannalal Oswal Memorial Committee (PLOMC) at Sankardev Sishu Bidya Niketan with a day long programme on Thursday.

Programmes included art competition, extempore speech, song and go-as-you-like on nature as theme while memorial committee put up a small exhibition on the activities of Dr. Pannalal Oswal related with protection and preservation of nature in the auditorium hall of the school.

A memorial meeting was held under the presidentship of former Principal of B.N.College, Dr. Dhruba Chakrabortty where in Dr. Dwipendra Kumar Adhikari, a renowned national level scientist, Sanjib Kumar Paul, secretary general of POMC, Bimal Oswal, Upa Pradhan Acharya (Vice-Principal) of the school, Narayan Chandra Nath and organizing secretary of memorial committee, Bijoy Kumar Sharma spoke at a length on the life and activities of Dr. Oswal and said he was bestowed with multi-faceted talents and genius in true sense.

 “His love toward preservation and protection of nature was so high with farsightedness that despite being a practising physician in English medicine, he established Ayurvedic medicine production industry in Dhubri in 1985 as he knew that secrets of cures of all ailments of body lies in medicinal plants” speakers opined.

The entire programme was jointly anchored by an active member of the committee, Dhruba Mahato and senior Acharya (teacher) of the school, Monojit Dutta. At the end, prizes of competition were distributed among the students with packets of gifts from the committee.
