DHUBRI: Dipankar Mazumdar, a medical salesman by profession helping underprivileged persons by getting them vaccinated against the COVID-19 in Dhubri town.

Since last week Mazumdar, on his Scooty is moving around Dhubri town in search of people, particularly those who are underprivileged and live on daily wages. His move to get the underprivileged people vaccinated, is now talk of the town as he sticks poster for creating awareness on corona pandemic and is looking for people in the nook and corner of Dhubri town for RAT test and vaccination.

When contacted by The Sentinel, Mazumdar said that he was worried about the men and women between the age group of 18-45 years working in tea stalls, grocery stores, as domestic help and others who didn't have android mobile handsets to get registered themselves online for vaccination.

"It is very hard to convince this ignorant group of people about taking the vaccination. My job is to convince and provide counselling for vaccination, then take him or her to vaccination centres for registration and then get them vaccinated after RAT test," he said.

He said that till now he has helped over 50 people to get vaccinated.

While saluting Mazumdar's selfless services, a tea-stall vendor, Bharat Prasad (42) said that it would haven't been possible for him to take the vaccine if the former had not approached him.

"He is rendering a rare service to humanity. May God grant him long and healthy life," Prasad added.
