Dibrugarh-Chabua road and Lahoal-Tengakhat roadside dhabas raided by Excise Department, illegal liquor seized

Dibrugarh: Continuing the uncompromising stance against illicit liquor ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Excise Department raided several roadside dhabas located near the national highway on the evening of Monday.

Targeting dhabas along the Dibrugarh-Chabua road and Lahoal-Tengakhat road, the department seized an illegally-stocked 25 litres of foreign liquor and 30 litres of country liquor. Four people were also arrested on grounds of violation of the Excise Act. The flying squad deployed to clamp down on such intoxicants seized foreign liquor from Khowang. Similar missions were also carried out in Amaraguri and Bokulgaon of Dibrugarh Vidha Sabha constituency, and around 30 litres of country liquor were seized and destroyed.
