Dibrugarh DC Pallav Gopal Jha asks Commercial Establishments to Keep Town Clean

A Correspondent

Dibrugarh: After the recent dismal ranking of Dibrugarh in Swachh Survekshan, 2019 drew flak and widespread criticisms from all quarters, the District Administration (DA) and Dibrugarh Municipal Board (DMB) seem to have taken the matter seriously.

In a discussion withheld with the representatives of some of the major waste creators like restaurants, shopping malls and hotels on Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha sought their cooperation in keeping the town clean and asked them not to litter indiscriminately.

He also took stock of the measures being taken by the commercial entities towards waste management, and at the same time, urged their representatives to take measures for waste segregation, dumping garbage into the dustbins within the specified hours and promoting vermiculture.

Mincing no words, he also made it clear that the ones flouting the directives and orders of DA and DMB would be subjected to punitive measures.
