Dibrugarh DC Pallav Gopal Jha assesses preventive measure

Dibrugarh: In view of the situation prevailing in the country due to COVID-19 cases, Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha on Monday appealed to the public not to venture out of their houses unless absolutely necessary.

Also, a meeting of the Dibrugarh district administration with Health, PHE, Food & Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs department officials and Indian Railways and AMCH authorities, was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha to assess the preventive measures taken by these authorities to check the spread of COVID 19/ Novel Coronavirus in Dibrugarh district.

The meeting, which was held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, assessed the medical facilities available in the government health institutions and also reviewed the status of isolation wards along with quarantine facilities set up by health department in model hospitals, apart from AMCH. In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Jha emphasized proper training of officials and staff designated at isolation wards. In the meeting, he also directed health officials to further mobilize the ASHA and ANM workers engaged at the grassroots level who were working on sensitizing the people on COVID 19.

He also requested the railway officials present in the meeting to create a mechanism so that travel history of passengers coming from outside the district could be collected. He also stressed the need to create proper awareness among people at railway stations.
