Dibrugarh Ladies Club celebrates International Women’s Day

DIBRUGARH: The members of Dibrugarh Ladies Club celebrated International Women’s Day by felicitating the founders of Baidew Hotel on Sunday. Baidew Hotel is a small food joint opposite Dibrugarh University. It was started by ten underprivileged women who decided to join together and turn entrepreneurs. Their dedication and hard work have made this small eatery very popular with the students of the University who get homemade style food cooked and served in a very hygienic environment.

The members of The Dibrugarh Ladies Club which is a 60 years old socio-cultural organization of more than 70 ladies, decided to felicitate and appreciate the efforts of the people running “Baidew” , namely Gunada Gogoi, Parash Moni Mesh, Lakhya Prabha Gogoi, Jinu Sonowal, Rashmi Rekha Gogoi, Jonali Gogoi, Miru Rajput, Rekha Baruah, Santosh & Rupa Das. The Ladies Club donated a refrigerator that would assist the eatery in the coming summer months. The ladies were highly motivated and touched with tears in their eyes.

As per president Ritu Baruah and secretary Priti Karwa of The Dibrugarh Ladies Club this would be an encouragement to many more women who can be independent, industrious and self-employed.
