Dibrugarh University prof arrested for allegedly sharing 'illicit videos'

Guwahati: In a bizarre development, a Dibrugarh University professor has been arrested by the police for allegedly uploading "illicit videos" on the internet.

The accused has been identified as Dhruva Jyoti Choudhury, an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics in Dibrugarh University, As per sources, the professor has also made an illicit video with a young girl and uploaded on a website.

It has been reported Dr. Harichandra Mahanta, the Registrar of the University, filed a case with the police against the professor. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case no.1044/2020 u/s 294A/500/506 IPC read under section 67A of IT Act. The police seized a camera from the accused.

Sources also informed that the professor also made several porn videos in some hotels and lodges in Guwahati where he had spent nights, on various occasions.
