DIBRUGARH: In a significant step towards advancing geoscientific research and academic collaboration, Dibrugarh University on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Geological Survey of India (GSI).
The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Kaushik Rai, Minister of Mines & Minerals, Government of Assam, along with ministers of Mines and Minerals from all eight North Eastern states and other dignitaries from both the central and state governments.
This MoU marked another major milestone for Dibrugarh University and is aimed at fostering collaboration in the field of geosciences.
The partnership will facilitate exchange of faculty and scientists between the university and GSI in areas of mutual interest. It will also enable collaborative research initiatives and promote academic interaction between Dibrugarh University’s faculty and students and professional geoscientists from GSI.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen research capacities, enhance learning opportunities, and contribute meaningfully to the development of earth science studies in the region.
