Dibrugarh's Joypur Panchayat selected for DDUPS Puraskar, 2022

DIBRUGARH: The Joypur block panchayat in Dibrugarh district has been selected for the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar, 2022.

The award will be conferred on the National Panchayati Raj Day (NPRD) on April 24. This year, the national function of NPRD-2022 will be held in Palli Gram Panchayat of Samba district of Jammu & Kashmir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend as chief guest and confer the awards.

The Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar is given to best performing Panchayats (District, Intermediate and Gram Panchayat) across the States/UTs in recognition of the good work that is done by Panchayat Raj Institutions at each level for improving delivery of services and public goods.

Nine thematic categories for GPs are Sanitation, Civic Services (Drinking Water, Streetlight, Infrastructure), Natural Resource Management, Marginalized section (Women, SC/ST, Disabled, Senior Citizen), Social Sector Performance, Disaster Management, Community Based Organizations/Individuals taking voluntary actions to support GPs, Innovation in Revenue Generation and e-Governance.
