Digboi College Students came out in protest against Bill, Minor scuffle between Police & Student

Digboi: Tensed situation in Digboi after Digboi College students came out in protest against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 today by boycotting their regular classes.

As per reports, a small scuffle broke out between the students and police during the protest.

Angry students also burnt tyre in protest against the bill and chanted slogans against the BJP-led Government.

Speaking before the media, the students' body lambasted the Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal for maintaining silence over the issue. They further threatened the Government of India and Assam for an indefinite class boycott along with a massive protest until they scrap the controversial bill.

Meanwhile, Digboi Police reached to the spot to normalize the situation and tried to resist the angry students following which a minor scuffle broke out between the protesters and police thereafter.
