Digboi MLA Suren Phukan inaugurates classrooms in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: Two renovated classrooms and two newly constructed cycle stands of Borhapjan High School under Borhapjan Gaon Panchayat of Digboi LAC situated near here was formally inaugurated on Friday by the MLA of Digboi LAC Suren Phukan. The renovation of the classrooms and the construction of the cycle stands were done at the cost of Rs. 4,00,000 sanctioned by the 14th Finance Commission.

The inaugural programme was also attended by the Hapjan Zila Parishad Constituency member Nabajyoti Chutia, Borhapjan Anchalik Panchayat member Rudra Tanti, Hapjan Gaon Panchayat president Pinky Moran, ward member Alpona Moran, retired teacher Kamala Kanta Saikia and several others. Earlier, Tikendrajit Gohain, an assistant teacher of the school delivered the welcome address. MLA Suren Phukan later laid the foundation stone of an open stage for performing 'Rati Bihu' of the Moran Community at Borhapjan.
