Digboi Refinery observes Vigilance Awareness Week

DIGBOI: Based on the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission, the Vigilance Awareness Week, 2018 is being observed at IOCL (AOD) Digboi Refinery with a line-up of engaging events commencing since Tuesday. The tri-lingual Integrity Pledge-taking ceremony was held at four different locations in the presence of Sukla Mistry, the Chief General Manager (AOD), Manik Saikia, General Manager in-charge (TS&HSE) and other senior executives and employees of the organization.

As a curtain-raiser to the important event, Mridul Shyam DGM (Vigilance), RN Adhikary, DGM (PN), Saurav Gupta, CPNM (OM&S) along with other senior officials led an awareness talk among the TT drivers adjacent to the Refinery premises. A similar drive was also held inside the Digboi Marketing terminal also.

Earlier several outreach programmes were also held at Margherita College, Digboi College, and Digboi Mahila Mahavidyalaya. The students and faculty members of educational institutions were informed about the Integrity Pledge and the importance thereof. Essay and slogan-writing competitions too have been announced for students and employees.

As a part of the Vigilance Awareness Week, 2018, a Gram Sabha was also held earlier at the Community Hall, Tingrai, where wherein around 200 people had participated. A street play was also staged by students of Industrial Training Centre (ITC) of IOCL (AOD) Digboi on the tools to fight against corruption. Meanwhile, a popular art and painting event was held among the school children which witnessed an overwhelming participation.
