Dissatisfied family members of Bibendra Kemprai demand re-investigation

Haflong: Dissatisfied family members of Bibendra Kemprai, who was killed by some miscreant on September 2, 2017, appealed to the Superintendent of Police, Dima Hasao against the closure of case no 98/2017 u/s 302 IPC on Thursday. In the representation, Dehon Kemprai, father of the deceased, while giving a reminder to the respective office, said that his son Bibendra Kemprai was killed by some unidentified person on September 2, 2017, and a case was filed regarding the same on September 8, 2017, at Haflong Police Station and Sub Inspector Neeraj Alam Choudhury was appointed as the investigating officer of the case under Section 302 IPC.

He said that they were never informed about any proceedings of the case after being in constant touch with the investigating officer. And all of a sudden, to their utter shock, they received a letter from the office concerned stating that the case had been closed. Aponi Kemprai, the main accused of the crime, had already given a statement to the large gathering at the village council on March 31, 2018 that it was not an accident and that someone had hit Bibendra Kemprai which led to his death. The distressed father pleaded for justice and demanded re-investigation.
