TINSUKIA: The District Magistrate of Tinsukia, by a notification has asked arms licensees having three weapons to deposit the arms in Tinsukia district in pursuance of a government letter no. NMM-14/2018/119 of 18.9.2021.
The notification stated that as per amended provision under section 3(2) of Arms Act 1959, a licensee in possession of more than two firearms is permitted to retain any two of such firearms and must deposit his remaining firearms with the officer-in-charge of the nearest police station or with a license dealer or in a unit armoury, if he is a member of Armed forces of the Union before October 30.
