GOLAGHAT: A meeting of the District Road Safety Committee, Golaghat was held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Thursday.

The meeting which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mrigesh Narayan Borua in the presence of the District Transport Officer Dibyajyoti Karzee and other members of the committee, discussed various issues related to road safety, including number and causes of road accidents, reformation of Path Suraksha Vahini, issue of overloading, proper installation of road safety signage.

To reduce probable road accidents, the Deputy Commissioner asked the department concerned to install road safety signage within November 15. The DC also instructed the DTO Golaghat for inspecting the accident-prone areas of the district and asked him to make necessary arrangements to prevent accidents. In this meeting, the District Transport Office donated 10 stretchers and 10 medical first aid kits to police stations.
