Diwali Celebration turns fatal; Unidentified Vehicle mows down Cyclist in Nagaon's Nasatra

Nagaon: Diwali Celebrations turns fatal for a 40-year-old man of Nasatra, Nagaon as an unidentified vehicle mowed him down at Maj-Jajori- Batadrava Connecting road.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening when the man was on his way home riding his bicycle was severely hit by a vehicle.

The man, identified as Mantu Borah of Kohuatoli village, Nagaon died on the spot.

The vehicle, however, managed to escape from the spot immediately after the incident.

The body was later shifted by Jajori Police to Nagaon BP Civil hospital for post-mortem.

On the other hand, a farmer died on the spot after a tractor plunged into the Diputa River in Tezpur last night. As per a report, the tractor bearing registration number AS 12 D 2637 was heading from Tezpur’s Mission Chariali to Bihuguri area. The identity of the farmer has not been ascertained yet.

Meanwhile, the body of the person has been sent for post-mortem.
