Doctor among nine test corona positive across Goalpara

Along with rest of the State, the number of corona positive cases is rapidly increasing in Goalpara district

GOALPARA: Along with rest of the State, the number of corona positive cases is rapidly increasing in Goalpara district also. On Wednesday, nine new COVID-19 positive cases were detected and with this, the total number of positive cases reached 62 in the district.

Among these nine new cases, there is a doctor and a laboratory technician who were engaged in COVID duty. Dr Gagan Thakuriya who tested positive had worked in the isolation ward of the Bhalukdubi-based Goalpara civil hospital. On the other hand, laboratory technician of the Bordamal state dispensary, Bimal Sinha also tested positive. He was entrusted with the duty of swab collection in a local hospital.

The others tested positive on Wednesday have been identified as Hiren Basumatary, Prahlad Rabha, Ajoy Rabha, Bineswar Rabha, Rajen Rabha, Pranay Rabha and Soriful Islam. All of them had recently returned from other States.
