Doctor arrested for derogatory remarks in Barpeta district

BARPETA: A doctor named Dr Samsul Alam of Mandia, Barpeta district was arrested on Friday by the police of Barpeta sadar police station in coordination with Meghalaya Police for his alleged derogatory remarks against police on Facebook. Dr Samsul Alam works in West Garo Hills district as a homeopathy doctor under Ayush Mantranalaya. He commented on a Facebook post against the police. It was noticed by the police and finally he was arrested from Meghalaya. He was produced in Barpeta court on Saturday and sent to Barpeta district jail.
