Dogra Regiment to take part in India-UK joint exercise in Mangaldai

MANGALDAI: The 14th Battalion of the Dogra Regiment has been nominated to participate in the India-UK Joint Exercise ‘Ajeya Warrior 2020’ with an aim to build and promote positive military relations between both the armies. This joint exercise will be conducted in the UK.

The battalion has trained the participants of the joint exercise in counter-terrorism operations as per the UN mandate. The participants have also been trained in combat shooting, rock craft training, jungle survival and martial arts for unarmed combat. The battalion is fully confident and geared up to face the challenges that will be posed to them during the joint exercise. The troop is currently stationed at Gingharikhal, Ranikhet in Uttarakhand. Earlier, this battalion was deployed in Udalguri and Darrang districts to assist the civil administration in fighting against insurgency and the ‘Men in Olive Green’ had earned a good reputation for their people-friendly attitude and tough stand against insurgents. Commanding Officer of the Battalion, Colonel Amit Saini will lead the troops to the UK.
