DOOMDOOMA: In view of the constant rise of water levels of the River Brahmputra and its tributaries in Doomdooma Revenue Circle in Tinsukia district due to incessant rains during the last few days, a warning notice was issued by the Circle Officer on Wednesday barring the villagers from certain activities.

The notice barred the villagers neither to take bath nor to go for fishing in the rivers which were in spate. Second, it cautioned not to allow children to play near such rivers, tributaries, lake or canals. Third, it warned people not to walk or drive over the places overflowing with floodwater and not to go to such places during the night time. Fourth, it told people to keep away from electric posts, transformers or hanging electric wires and immediately inform the authority in case they see any electric equipment or transformers etc immersed in water. Fifth, it warned people whose houses are constructed in high places to be on alert against snake-bites as there are possibilities of snakes entering their houses.
