Dr BR Ambedkar Bhavan Committee Distributed Clothes Among Safai Karmis

BILASIPARA: Under the aegis of Dr BR Ambedkar Bhavan Management Committee, Bilasipara, saris for female safai karmis and pants and shirt pieces for male safai karmis were distributed. The clothes were distributed among 40 safai karmis under Bilasipara municipality on Saturday.

In this connection, a meeting was held in the premises of Dr BR Ambedkar Bhavan with Dayal Paul, president of the Bhavan management committee, in the chair. Dr. Kanu Lal Das, secretary of the Bhavan management committee, said that safai karmis were the most neglected persons of the society although they kept the town clean. Considering their poor economic condition, the Dr. BR Ambedkar Bhavan Management Committee decided to distribute clothes to the safai karmis ahead of Durga Puja.
